Nearly every second person you know would be using one social media network or the other. Everyone has their own favourite network these days. According to Statista, Facebook had about 1,320 million active users as of October 2014. QZone came next with 645 million active users, followed by Google+ with 343 million. LinkedIn and Twitter had 300 million and 271 million active users across the world respectively.

Given these astonishing numbers, it is clear that social media marketing is here to stay. After all, where else would you be able to promote your business to an audience this diverse (and vast), without spending thousands of dollars? Yet, many businesses continue to disregard the value (and the benefits) of having a social media strategy. They do this at their own risk.
